Trio Émeraude

Trio Émeraude is launching their debut concert in GTA with Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No.1 in D minor and No.2 in C minor

Come and listen to Trio Émeraude, live!

The newest classical music trio group is launching their debut concert here in the GTA! They will be performing the two most iconic paino trios written by Felix Mendelssohn:

Piano Trio No.1 in D minor, Op. 49 (1839): Composed in 1839 and published in 1840, this trio is celebrated for its lush piano writing and is considered a masterpiece, says YourClassical.

Piano Trio No.2 in C minor, Op. 66 (1845): Written six years later, this was Mendelssohn's final chamber work with piano, dedicated to violinist Louis Spohr.

Their dynamic sound and broad tonal ranges, combining with their technical prowess has created one of the most exciting and memorable trio groups in recent Canadian music scene.

The Ravel Experience

Join the MSO for The Ravel Experience, a concert that explores Ravel’s extraordinary gift for creating rich, imaginative soundscapes.

The program features Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2, a lush, evocative work drawn from Ravel’s celebrated ballet, and his brilliant orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition which transforms the original piano suite into a vivid and dramatic musical journey.

Acclaimed pianist Cecilia Chow joins the orchestra to perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. A Hong Kong-born artist praised for her sensitivity, dazzling technique, and expressive tone, Chow has performed extensively across Europe, Asia, and North America. She is a laureate of numerous international competitions and a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied under distinguished pianists Andrew Ball and Ruth Harley.

The Ravel Experience is generously sponsored by Mayor Carolyn Parrish. Join us after the concert for a special mix and mingle in the Living Arts Centre atrium where guests will have the opportunity to meet the Mayor in person surrounded by selections from the permanent gallery of the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
